The Market Data Services of the Montréal Exchange (the MX) manages both the sale and distribution of market data. The department is responsible for:

• certifying vendors; and
• establishing distribution (external and internal) and subscriber fee policies regarding real-time and delayed market data for both professional and non-professional subscribers.

Market data is available in the following types:

• on a real-time basis
• on a delayed basis (at least 15 minutes)
• on a end-of day summary basis

All companies planning to redistribute either real-time or delayed MX market data must submit their request to Market Data Services and obtain official authorization. The MX applies fees for real-time market data distribution and access. The MX also applies fees for delayed market data distribution, however, delayed MX market data access is non-fee liable. The following summarizes all aspects of market data distribution including datafeed access, applicable fees and procedures relating to :

• obtaining MX approval as a market data vendor; and
• general data distribution and subscription policies, fees, forms and contractual requirements as well as reporting procedures and customer billing.
